DVDs and Streaming Licenses for Universities, Colleges, and Public Libraries

Divided We Fall develops a case study of a pivotal moment in US labor history that will be useful for courses in Sociology, Political Science, and Labor Studies.  Be sure to read our suggestions for educators.

DVDs and streaming licenses for universities, colleges, and public libraries are available through the veteran educational distributor New Day films.

Though streaming has become popular, there are many advantages to having a DVD in your institution’s library.  Relatively inexpensive, they are a durable physical acquisition that, well-cared for, can last for years to come.

Other benefits of DVDs include:

  •  Better sound and visual quality – streaming can be unpredictable.
  • Special features: Our DVD includes a 15 minute short of University of Wisconsin Professor Katherine Cramer discussing her nationally-acclaimed research on the political perspectives of rural Wisconsinites – a useful counterpoint to the feature which is told from the perspective of the protesters.
  • Chapter markers – Divided We Fall has 14, with thumbnail videos, to make it easy for a professor to cue up a clip needed for a class presentation
  • Closed-captioning, with subtitles in English and Spanish.

Divided We Fall is also available at colleges and universities via Kanopy streaming.
